How we checked: Read Hims & Hers Canada's own pages (weight-loss program, FAQ, terms; forhers.ca) on 3 Oct 2026. The page lists the first consult at $99 but showed a free-first-consult promotion when we checked. We have not completed a sign-up.

Who it suits

Good fit if

  • You want to answer questions on your own schedule, not book an appointment.
  • You want one platform that also handles other treatments, such as acne.
  • You would rather have medication shipped, or collect it from your own pharmacy.
  • You want unlimited messaging with a practitioner after you start.
  • You want to pay per consultation and per refill, with no membership or contract.

Less suited if

  • You want a scheduled video or phone visit with a clinician.
  • You want lab work to be a step in the process, since none is published.
  • You want a dietitian or coaching service included.
  • You want one monthly price that covers the visit and the medication together.

We read the weight loss pages and FAQ on hims.ca and forhers.ca, the Livewell transition page and the hims.ca terms on 3 October 2026. This page explains how the service works as Hims & Hers publishes it. We have not completed a sign-up.

Hims & Hers Canada runs two sites: hims.ca, which describes itself as a service for men, and forhers.ca, which describes itself as one for women. Both publish the same weight loss steps, so we describe them together. forhers.ca says Livewell has joined Hims & Hers and that the Livewell site has been rebranded as Hims & Hers. It does not say which brand took over which part of Livewell, so we say only what it states.

How sign-up works

You create an account and answer an assessment, a questionnaire about your symptoms and health history. Hims says it uses an asynchronous telemedicine model, meaning you and the practitioner do not need to be online at the same time, so you finish the visit when it suits you.

A practitioner then reviews your answers, which the FAQ says takes 24 to 48 hours, and approves or denies the request. Its terms say care comes from authorized physicians and nurse practitioners, meaning nurses with advanced training who can assess people and prescribe. Hims says they must be licensed in your province and that they, not Hims, decide whether to prescribe.

There is no scheduled call. If the practitioner has more questions, they message you through a secure portal. The pages we read list no blood test or other lab work as a step, so we have not recorded one.

What is included and what costs extra

Hims separates the consultation from the medication, with no lock-in contract. Its weight loss page lists the program at $99, which it says covers the initial consultation, a prescription if you are eligible, unlimited messaging and free shipping. When we checked on 3 October 2026 the page also showed a banner saying the first weight loss consult is free. We have not confirmed how long it runs or its terms, so check the amount at checkout.

Checked 3 Oct 2026 · Fees as listed in our provider data

Follow-up fees and the pharmacy fill fee, the charge a pharmacy makes for dispensing each refill, are in the provider card. Hims says you see an estimate of the medication cost during the online visit, and that you can upload a benefit card so its pharmacy can apply coverage. Which drugs your plan covers is a question for your insurer; see our coverage guides and price guides.

When your prescription runs out of refills, Hims prompts you for a follow-up consultation before renewing it. Hims says billing and shipping are automatic by default, that you can pause at any time, and that it does not accept returns of medication.

How your medication arrives

If you choose a Hims partner pharmacy, Hims says the medication ships free in a plain post bag and is refilled on a schedule you set. Its FAQ says delivery is usually next day, while its weight loss page lists two to three days. If you prefer your own pharmacy, you pick that option during the visit and Hims faxes the prescription there for in-person pickup.

Where it is available and what we have not confirmed

Hims says it serves all Canadian provinces, to anyone 18 or older located in Canada. The pages we read do not mention the territories, so we have not confirmed them.

We classify Hims & Hers Canada as a multi-service platform. hims.ca lists weight loss, erectile dysfunction and acne, and forhers.ca lists weight loss, birth control and acne. For weight loss, support is a questionnaire, unlimited messaging and a follow-up when refills run out, which is close to how a prescription service works. The weight loss page mentions nutrition, sleep and movement but lists no dietitian or coaching service, so we have not recorded one.

The general FAQ says consultations start at a lower figure than the program price, and we have not confirmed whether that applies to weight loss. We have not checked the weight loss page’s statements about expected results or price comparisons, and we do not repeat them. See our care models guide, providers overview and methodology.
